
Once crossed by streams and creeks, Montreal has seen its rivers become polluted and buried through centuries of urbanization. Today, only the seagulls circling overhead and the manholes remind of what lies beneath. Guided by some of Montreal’s oldest maps, PASSÉ DISPARU searches for the forgotten rivers and visits the urban landscapes that can be found today. Until heavy rain falls and the old waters rise again to flood the streets – reminding the city of its seemingly vanished past.
